Retail's AI Revolution: Big Box, Big Brains Needed!

Big Box retailers are scrambling to ride the AI wave, but let's be real – they're kinda short on the brainy AI talent needed to make magic happen. Generative AI is flipping the retail world upside down, offering personalized, efficient, and downright revolutionary experiences. With 80% of retail hotshots calling AI the next big thing, it's time to buff up those AI muscles, folks!

Wondering where to kick off your AI journey? Check out Amazon's "AI Ready" initiative. Spoiler alert: It's absolutely free! Amazon's on a mission to buff up 2 million brains with AI skills by 2025.

So, if you're chilling this holiday season, watching Uncle Joe snooze on the couch, why not amp up your AI game with an Amazon course?

But hey, becoming a top-notch AI developer isn't just about acing free courses. The Deputy's pro tip: Start building while learning. Get your hands dirty with programming languages like Python, R, Java, or C++ - they're your tickets to crafting some slick AI algorithms and models.

Let's not forget, machine learning, deep learning, and data analysis aren't just tech buzzwords – they're the future, and they're sticking around. Remember, quality data is like a great storyteller; it doesn't just spout numbers, it weaves narratives.

Here's a thought starter: Who's the AI whiz in your team? Don't know? Time to step up and be that person. Embrace your inner AI hero – it's showtime in 2024!

Calling in the Legal Eagles and PR Pros Early…

There are a lot of KEY Take-Aways from the AISummitNY but the big one we took home is legal and PR are doing everything they can to get out ahead of AI to be ready for long term growth and disruption with AI.

In the world of AI, it's not just about coding and algorithms anymore. Companies are getting wise and bringing in their legal teams right from the get-go – we're talking proof of concept stage. According to Salman Taherian, the generative AI partner lead (EMEA) for AWS, this is way ahead of the game compared to the old AI/ML days.

But wait, there's more. PR and Communication teams are also jumping in early to handle any potential PR headaches from AI going rogue. Sy Choudhury, director of business development for AI partnerships at Meta, says, "It's a different world now." And he's not kidding!

Meta's not just talking the talk; they're walking the walk in responsible AI practices. They've got this four-Llama model system that's like a bouncer checking IDs at the club. First, one Llama model sizes up the user's intent on WhatsApp. Then, another Llama jumps in for a safety check, making sure the AI isn't being duped. The third Llama answers the prompt, and the fourth gives it a final polish to make it shine. It's like a well-oiled machine ensuring the AI output is not just smart but also safe and slick.

Boardrooms across the world trying to figure out AI

🚀 Checkout Juicebox. It’s built for recruiting, customer discovery and more.

Our own “Nate Stage Dive Smith” gave this technology a test and while we are still in test mode, it seems it’s good for some roles and struggles with roles that are more niche (i.e., 4D Developers).

Juicebox is off to a great start with AI and recruiting searches, but the technology still needs to mature.

Recruiting Fails: Fake job postings are a thing. If you think a job is fake, do your research because companies do post fake jobs. Companies do it for advertising (aka the bling) or for bureaucratic reasons (i.e., post a job to give everyone a chance but they already have their top candidate picked).

Reddit has a good thread on companies who post fake jobs HERE.
